Britney Spears recently claims to have poured her “heart and soul” into her latest album, playfully entitled Britney Jean.
The illustrious Hold It Against Me singer was in a rather generous mood, electing to produce a handwritten letter for her dedicated fanbase, which was released on Friday 25 Oct. The note was posted on Spears’ website, explaining that she was all set to add the “finishing touches” to her unreleased album, in the coming days.
The star begins her letter, stating “I haven’t sat down to write you guys in such a long time,” before moving on to talk about the intense devotion and hard work that was required during production the album’s production:
“I poured my heart and soul into this album and it’s been an incredible journey. I’ve learned a lot about myself and as I am finishing I am reminded of the incredible foundation that has supported me for the last 15 years.”
Britney Jean is the pop diva’s eighth studio album, which was originally announced in December 2012, and enlists the lyrical talents of will.i.am, who served as the project’s executive producer.
Speaking to the Rolling Stone, will.i.am confirmed the news, stating that the pair struck an accord whilst collaborating on the rapper’s Scream & Shout single:
“After I did a song on Femme Fatale — Big Fat Bass — and then we did Scream & Shout, she really liked the way we worked because of my approach… So they asked me to be involved in, not producing and writing every song, but to be an executive producer on the songs.”
Britney promises her Britney Jean album will be jam-packed with an eclectic blend of songs, boasting collaborative performances with several singer/songwriters, including William Orbit and Sia. Spears gushes over the creative input that the supporting singers and songwriters offered, inspiring her to go much “deeper” with her song writing endeavors.
Back in August, a countdown timer materialized on Spears’ website, set to end on Sep. 17, 2013. This was a teaser for the release of her Work Bitch single, taken from the forthcoming Britney Jean album.
Warning: the following YouTube videos contain material that some viewers may find offensive. Viewer discretion is advised.
According to MTV Music, Work Bitch was written by Spears, will.i.am, former Swedish House Mafia DJ Sebastian Ingrosso, as well as Otto Jettman, Ruth-Anne Cunningham and Antony Preston.
During an interview with Good Morning America, Spears decided to announce the date for Britney Jean’s hotly anticipated release, which is slated for Dec. 3, 2013.
Unwilling to limit herself to just a mere musical album, Spears had also planned to take up residency in Las Vegas, at the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, in preparation for her Britney: Piece of Me show. It is reported that the pop princess will bring her usual colorful style and performance flare to Sin City, starting Dec. 27, 2013. Britney’s Las Vegas show is expected to span over a period of two years, with the option of an extended run on the cards.
