Hayden Panettiere Engaged to Olympic Boxer Wladimir Klitschko [Video]

Hayden Panetttiere fiance

The former “cheerleader,” Hayden Panettiere, is not intent on saving the world anymore. She’s bringing it on to the media scene with her recent news of engagement to longtime boyfriend, Olympic gold medalist Wladimir Klitschko. Panettiere made the announcement during a Wednesday appearance on “Live With Kelly & Michael.”

An on and off relationship of sorts, Hayden Panettiere first met Wladimir Klitschko, heavyweight boxing champion, at a book party in 2009. They’ve dated for two years ever since, then called it off abruptly. The pair cited the long-distance nature of their relationship to attribute to the break-up. They came back together, however, this spring and are said to have been engaged in March, 2013.

Panettiere didn’t wear the huge diamond engagement ring except in October, 2013. She made her first appearance as fiancée on Wednesday, October 9 episode of “Live With Kelly & Michael.”

Panettiere hit the stage wearing a boa constrictor as a scarf, stirring the atmosphere a little for scaring host Michael Strahan who has a history of ophiophobia (fear of snakes).

Host Kelly Ripa was not that distracted by the boa and she noticed the huge diamond ring on Panettiere’s finger. She bluntly asked the 24-year-old actress if the ring signified anything.

Panettiere’s coy answer hinted at the inevitable:

“It might mean something. I think it speaks for itself.”

When Ripa cut the chase and asked Panettiere if she was married, the Heroes alum replied happily with a simple “I am.”

Chris Capri of Capri Jewelry Inc. estimates the diamond is an emerald cut, around 6 carats and worth approximately $500,000. He says that the ring looks to be rose-gold, with a split-shank setting. Emerald has recently been a Hollywood favorite with celebrities like Beyoncé, Victoria Beckham, Kate Hudson and Reese Witherspoon rocking the look!

Hayden Panettiere’s romantic life has been quite an object of interest for as long as she has been on the entertainment scene. She started dating her Heroes Heroes co-star Milo Ventimiglia from 2007 to 2009. The NBC science fiction drama has then put Panettiere’s name on top of television stars, as she played fan favorite character, Claire Bennet, a high-school cheerleader with regenerative, healing powers. She then met Klitschko shortly after breaking up with Milo and started their two-year long romance. During their separation, Panettiere met NFL player Scotty McKnight and they dated for a whole year.

Looks like her heart has always been with Klitschko, though, for their union this spring along with a secret engagement speaks a lot about the depth of their relationship and the strength of their feelings.

In an interview with Glamour magazine, Panettiere stated that she was always into the idea of giving a past relationship a second chance. She stated that she had been in great romantic relationships and had always stayed good friends with her exes even after the separation.

Despite the love that fills the air, Panettiere and Klitschko have no plans of setting a wedding date anytime soon. Hayden Panettiere has a very busy schedule on her hands. She is currently shooting new episodes for the second season of the ABC musical drama, Nashville.
