Police: Indiana Elementary School on Lockdown After Shots Reported Fired

Cedar Hall Elementary in Evansville, IN, was placed on lockdown Monday morning after a phone call to police reported shots fired. According to police, an animal control worker encountered a gunman at the block of 1300 Keller, which is less than a mile from the school. The individual shot at the worker and fled to a nearby house shortly thereafter.

Marsha Jackson, Chief Communications Officer for the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation, has described the school as being in “Secure Mode.” No one is currently allowed to enter or leave the building.
