Tim Bradley retains his title

Las Vegas, Oct. 13, 2013:  The American welter weight boxer Tim Bradley defeated Juan Manuel Marquez, the 40 years old far more experienced fighter hailing from Mexico, to retain his World Boxing Organization welter weight title. The 12 round fight was decided by a split decision by the judges. Marquez was the hot favorite of the 13,000 strong crowd present in the arena. The crowd booed at the 12 round split decision by the judges. The boxing pundits also seem to agree with the sentiments of the crowd and termed the decision as controversial. Marquez, after the bout talking to the press said , “To be here in Vegas, I need to knock the person out to get a victory.Unfortunately, I need to be scared of the judges more than my opponent.” While Bradley rejoiced and proudly declared to the press that after this win, ” You have to consider me the top three in the world now… There’s Mayweather, there’s Andre Warid, and there’s Tim Bradley, baby.”
