Monday night VH1 aired the TLC biographical titled CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story which pulled in 4.5 million viewers. The story follows the three band mates Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes throughout the struggles they experienced in and out of the music industry.

The movie chronicles the ladies of R&B and their rise to fame as well as the mistakes and experiences that made them who they are today. It immediately became the highest rated original VH1 movie to date and is titled after their hit 1994 album CrazySexyCool. In case the name TLC doesn’t quite ring a bell, think back to the early to mid 90’s (unless you weren’t born yet) and you may remember some of their hits such as “No Scrubs” and “Waterfalls.”

In an interview with Access Hollywood T-Boz said that she believes musicians can learn for the experiences of TLC. “I think the most important thing is that we learned from all of our mistakes and you grow and that’s what made us the women we are today.”

On October 15th, just one week ago TLC released a compilation album. The album is simply titled 20 to represent the band’s 20 year legacy. It includes their four hit singles “Waterfalls” “Creep” “Unpretty” and of course “No Scrubs.” Also featured on the album is an entirely new track titled “Meant to Be.”

TLC has announced that they have a new track with Lady Gaga titled “Posh Life” that they are excited about. Even after all these years TLC continues to make music and represent themselves as strong women.

On Thursday T-Boz and Chilli guest starred on “The Wendy Williams Show” to talk about the movie and give thanks for how blessed they feel. Wendy herself praised the movie giving it, “10’s across the board” which the band was thrilled to hear. When talking about who to cast in the movie the band mentions Lil Mama who played Left Eye, with great respect. “She was the first one we picked… We saw a lot of different actresses trying out for the part but hands down she was the one.”

During the second half of the episode Wendy brought out the actresses that played in the movie for a group interview. Lil Mama said that playing the role of Left Eye was “very spiritual… Every time I did a dark scene an ambulance would pass by… they’d have to shut down and I’d get this really like deep moment to think.” If you’d like to watch the entire episode you can find it at the bottom of the article.

Last night the hashtag #CrazySexyCool had nearly 2 million tweets on twitter. In case you missed CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story and want to watch it, VH1 will re-air it this Sunday at 8 p.m. After a second viewing the number of people who have seen this movie will certainly pass the previous 4.5 million mark.
