Google Glass on eBay and Craigslist

Google GlassThousands of people want to get their hands on Google Glass. It’s an innovative idea that is only available to a select few. However, Google Glass is now available on sites like eBay and Craiglist after the tech giant confirms a change in its policy.

Originally, the new glass device was available by invitation only. The company would send an email invite for the opportunity to buy the device for $1,500. The top brass knew that people would sell it on, so a policy was put in place that would disable the device and make it completely useless. It has left thousands of people disappointed.

The new Google Glass device will change the way that anybody browses online and uses computers in general. It will allow people to record or take photos without using their hands, and people can find recipes while in the kitchen, without dragging the laptop through or risking damage to their tablet device.

This month, the tech giant decided to do a U-turn on the policy of rendering the device useless. It now allows people to sell their Glass on to others, and there is no penalty for the buyer. This has led to a large increase of eBay sales.

The downside for many is the price. Those selling Google Glass on eBay and Craigslist have them listed for much more than they bought. There are even some selling for $4,000. This is a hefty price to pay, but it could be the only way to get the device right now. There are even invitation codes being sold online for between around $4 and $500.

It is probable that the device will cost much less once it is sold to everyone. It just depends on how long it will take for it to finally be made available. At the moment, developers are struggling because there is little direction from the top people at the multinational company. Google decided to hire in third-party developed to make the device, while its in-house developers worked on the software. The two are not quite going hand-in-hand as of yet.

There currently isn’t enough access to the hardware to be able to create something that people will definitely want to buy. Better apps are needed and more access to the features is needed.

While the development issues continue, the best way for anyone to get their hands on the device is by purchasing it online. While it is available on sites like eBay and Craigslist and there is no penalty for the buyer, it will still be against Google’s terms of service (TOS). There is a chance that the listings will be quickly pulled down by the company.

When buying a Google Glass on Craigslist or eBay, it’s important to watch out for the scams. There will be plenty of people looking to make some quick cash. The main scam to look out for is the access to the invitation codes. It is possible that the codes are fake, or the same one may be sold to numerous people. Buyers need to keep their wits about them.
