Murder Suspect Sought in Houston Apartment Shooting (UPDATE)

murderUPDATE: A murder suspect is being sought in a Houston apartment shooting that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect, Johnathan Sanchez, 25, known as “J Boi,” is being sought for shooting and murdering three people and critically injuring two, at Peppermill Place apartment building 25 miles from downtown Houston. He is being charged with capital murder by the  Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The three murdered are a 22-year-old woman, a 17-year-old woman, and a 17-year-old boy. The two injured are an 18-year-old woman and a man in his 20s. All five have not been identified but all are Hispanic.

The murders occurred yesterday around 4:30 p.m. in an apartment complex at the 8200 block of Sunbury in Eastern Commons, where Sanchez reportedly opened fire and fled the scene. Three people died at the scene and the two survivors were airlifted to Memorial Hermann Texas Trauma Institute.

Neighbors at Peppermill Place are concerned for their safety. They do not know what the male suspect looks like but they worry he may return to the apartment complex and murder others.

Autopsies are being done on the three murdered victims Thursday morning.
