Xbox One: Madden 25 and Top 5 Games

Xbox One has finally been released with great fanfare at Times Square, New York. It’s time now to look at what games will bring the most enjoyment for your buck. Christmas is just around the corner, so here is s a quick look at what you should consider for your Xbox One gaming enthusiast.

Madden NFL 25

Madden – in any way, shape, or form – is a gaming staple. Arguably, any version of Madden is bound to entertain. So how does Madden 25 for Xbox One, the latest version in the popular series, stack up?

According to IGN’s Bobby Amos, Madden 25 is just more enjoyable on an Xbox 360 or a Playstation 3. Why? Apparently, the new version is just too smart – making those exciting, big plays less frequent. On the other hand, he does admit, “Watching Champ Bailey defensively dissect one of my offensive plays was great.”

Another plus point for Madden 25 is the crowd and stadium graphics. Your home-team crowd no longer looks like a blurry mass, and the cheers when you score a touchdown can make you feel like a hero! While they may not be Eagles fans, this animated crowd will let you know when you stink.

Player graphics are too weird for Amos’ liking. He says the legs are long and skinny, torsos small, and the lack of tattoos on Kansas City Chiefs star running back, Jamaal Charles, is just disturbing. Still, the cutaways to coaches and players waiting on the sidelines is pretty cool.

Dead Rising 3

Dead Rising 3 is good, old-fashioned, zombie-bashing fun! While the first two versions of this game are popular, this third one just takes the gory fun to new level. The objective of the game is to escape the zombie-infested city before it is blown to smithereens. The psychotic gang members, conspiracy theorists, and hapless citizens along the way add to the experience. You can even put together your own combination of zany weapons and vehicles. This game satisfies both casual and hard-core gamers. Like the zombies you bash – this one’s a no-brainer!

Ryse: Son of Rome

“Ryse: Son of Rome” is the gorgeous, graphic show-stopper for Xbox One. This game takes you on a journey with a member of the Roman legion who overcomes his humble beginnings to save Rome from an invading army. While the gameplay is simple hacking and slashing, you can combine moves to perform greusome executions – and an occasional disembowelment – of the warring barbarians.  Though basic, it is highly recommended as the most visually enticing game Xbox One has to offer.

Forza Motorsport 5

Forza Motorsport 5 is a must-have for the car enthusiast! Seamless graphics coupled with realistic action make this racing simulator a winner. If that’s not enough, BBC’s award-winning show, “Top Gear,” lends some of its audio to add even more vroom to the game. Word of caution – if you are not a car lover, this game isn’t for you.

Killer Instinct

This game is making a comeback appearance after decades and is only available through Xbox Live Arcade. You can access one character as part of the free demo, but you can purchase additional characters and accessories for a reasonable price. Or you can purchase the whole game and download it in one shot. The characters and designs are stellar in this long-awaited version. Note, this is a fighting game with a rich backstory that may overwhelm newcomers. Nonetheless – it is free and totally worth a try!

While Madden is the stalwart favorite, exciting choices are aplenty for Xbox One gamers. All games mentioned above are available in stores now for purchase. Happy shopping!
