Bruce Jenner is, according to reports, having his Adam’s apple surgically shaved off — is it the first step towards gender reassignment surgery?
The reports that Jenner does intend, ultimately, to get gender reassignment surgery have prompted comedian Marlon Wayans to say to a TMZ reporter that Jenner ought to skip the step of having his Adam’s apple shaved and “just get the breasts.” Bruce Jenner, who split from Kris Kardashian in October, denies the rumors that he’s seeking gender reassignment.
When directly asked, Jenner said he wants to get the laryngeal shave surgery simply because “I just never like my trachea.”
Having laryngeal shave surgery happens to be one of the first steps towards getting gender reassignment surgery, but that is probably merely coincidental….
Fans of the Keeping up with the Kardashians TV show have noticed that the former Olympic gold medal winner, Bruce Jenner, has been looking more effeminate lately, which is adding to the rumor about Jenner’s desire to have gender reassignment surgery.
Men have an Adam’s apple to support their deeper vocal chords. If Bruce decides to go ahead with the chondrolaryngoplasty surgery, his voice will become less deep, more like a woman’s voice.
That, and Jenner’s recent statement that his split from Kris means he’s “free to do what I want and live life the way I want,” could have nothing at all to do with there being any truth behind the obviously ridiculous rumors that Jenner is seeking gender reassignment surgery.
Bruce, 64, has already had several cosmetic surgeries done — having his Adam’s apple shaved could be just his way of reinventing himself, and possibly turning back the years, or bringing out his inner self.
Though Bruce Jenner has consulted with a surgeon (twice) in Beverly Hills about getting his Adam’s apple shaved off, and the doctor took preliminary photos today, Jenner insists that no date has yet been set for the chondrolaryngoplasty operation.
Furthermore, Jenner has since clarified with TMZ that the first time he went to the doctor’s office was because he had a large scar that wasn’t healing well from the basal cell carcinoma surgery he had performed on his nose in September. While he was there, though, Jenner admits that he also consulted with the doctor about having his Adam’s apple shaved.
Was Marlon Wayans joking about Bruce Jenner having his Adam’s apple shaved an indication of Bruce Jenner’s ultimate goal, to have gender reassignment surgery? Or, is Jenner’s consultation with a cosmetic surgeon about the operation to have his Adam’s apple shaved off simply because he’s never liked how his trachea has looked? Perhaps Wayans is just worried that Jenner has plans to be in a remake of “White Chicks,” and that Jenner might end up looking prettier than he did.
