Demi Lovato, the singer of “Skyscraper” and other hit songs, is reportedly leaving her job as a coach, mentor, and judge on The X Factor after this season, and one person who Simon Cowell has said would make a good replacement is — Miley Cyrus! Though Demi has not yet made an official declaration of her intentions of leaving The X Factor, according to People magazine, Lovato will be exiting the show at the end of this season.
Will Demi Lovato, 24, follow in the steps of L.A. Reid, who exited The X Factor as a judge about this time last season? It is looking that way, though reportedly no one from The X Factor has spoken to Demi about the possibility. She is about to embark on a new world tour, and is committed on focusing her attention on her music, so that could be one reason for her departure.
Demi Lovato will be departing on her first world arena tour in February, along with Fifth Harmony, Cher Lloyd, and Little Mix.
However, The X Factor‘s ratings are lagging, and though it has been picked up for another season, there have already been talks about what changes, other than the exit of Demi Lovato, need to be made to raise the show’s ratings. Simon has said that “there will be big changes,” starting with the new season of The X Factor.
One such change might be that The X Factor will go to only one episode a week in Season Four instead of two, a bit like how Dancing With the Stars was retooled. There are hints that there might even be an entirely different group of judges beginning with the new season. Even Simon, himself, might not be returning a as judge.
And, yes, it’s true — Simon Cowell, 54, has mentioned, among other possible names, that Miley Cyrus would make a great judge for the American version of The X Factor. Simon has stated that he’s “met Miley Cyrus, and I really like her.” He added that she definitely has her opinions about many subjects, and that he feels Miley would be “really fun to watch.” If he could get them, Simon would like Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul to be the other two judges.
Despite its falling in the ratings, Simon Cowell claims that The X Factor has been picked up for another season.
The X Factor is having its worst ratings season yet, but the quality of the performers is still very high. The X Factor has a chance to improve and go back to being the rating success it once was, but there are definitely changes in the works.
Will the changes help to make The X Factor as successful as it once was during its first season, or is this the beginning of the end for this show? Also, do you think that Miley Cyrus, Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson would make a great team of judges, or would you prefer to see some other celebrities be the new team of judges?
