Vin Diesel has confirmed that Fast & Furious 7 will be hitting theaters in April of 2015. The film was originally set to hit box offices in July of 2014, however the mysterious death of lead actor Paul Walker complicated the future of Fast & Furious 7. Walker’s death is still being investigated, and while many questions have arisen, no definitive answers have emerged regarding what specifically caused the death of the actor and his friend Roger Rodas.
Vin Diesel was among those who mourned the death of Walker shortly after his crash in Los Angeles. The fate of Fast & Furious 7 has been hanging in the balance as eager fans have awaited final word on a release date, if there would be one at all. After much talk and delay, Vin Diesel announced the April 2015 release date on his Facebook page.
Walker, despite his passing in the middle of filming, will still appear in the upcoming film. Universal has not announced specifically how or in what capacity Walker will be in the new film, leaving fans to resort to speculation.
Vin Diesel confirmed the new release date through his fan page, saying to his followers, “He’d want you to know first.”
The Fast & Furious franchise has been one of the most lucrative cinematic pieces, grossing well over $2 billion. With the complications brought about after Paul Walker’s death however, Vin Diesel along with movie fanatics have been waiting for a final decision about the upcoming movie.
For now it has been confirmed that the new release date for the much anticipated Fast & Furious 7 is nearly a year later than expected, set for April 2015.
