General Motors to Appoint Mary Barra as New CEO

Early this week, it was revealed that General Motors will be planning to bring Mary Barra on board as the company’s new CEO. After working with the company for nearly 33 years, she will be the company’s first woman to hold the position. The current CEO, Dan Akerson, will be leaving his role as CEO in January.

In 1980, Barra began working as a student in the General Motors Institute at Kettering University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
