The Amazing Race 23 Winners More in Love than Ever

More in love than ever Amazing Race 23

The winners of The Amazing Race season 23, Amy Diaz and Jason Case, say they are more in love than ever. The couple told WBZ NewsRadio 1030 host Jeff Brown that when they applied to do the reality TV show, they had only actually known each other for 30 days. It was a bet that paid off, it seems, because the 33-year old Case and 29-year old Diaz held strong throughout the 12 legs of the 23rd Amazing Race and finally came out on top in Juneau, Alaska.

Upon finishing the race, Amy said:

“Going through this race and finishing on top and learning a lot from each other, I’m so grateful for the experience.”

Her and her boyfriend, Jason Case, are both living in Boston, Massachusetts., although the former is originally from Rhode Island. Diaz is a former beauty pageant titleholder, most recently winning the “Miss Earth United States” contest in 2009. Although the couple only managed to place first one other time during the high-adrenaline Amazing Race 23, they completed their final task quickly – assembling totem poles to spell out the different currencies they had used throughout their time on the show.

In Leg 10, Amy and Jason managed their first win of the show, securing a 2-person trip to Cancun, Mexico. The ultimate prize awarded to them for completing Leg 12 first is $1 million. Fan favorites, Amy and Jason have shown both patience and ingenuity throughout the 12 legs of the race. One of the time-honored unspoken traditions of the show is to stress married and unmarried couples, friends and family members to the point of bickering and embarrassing on-camera fights. The Amazing Race 23, like all other seasons, was only available to pairs, so the audience can always expect some emotional drama.

Inevitably, couples – whether they are romantic couples, married couples, family members or old friends – seem to struggle more with the tasks of the game if they cannot practice patience with one another. Part of the fun for the audience of the Amazing Race is always to judge participants at the beginning of the show to see how they interact with one another. When an unstable couple gets on screen, it shows. Amy and Jason didn’t give in to the stress, however, which made them top contenders throughout season 23.

When organizers of The Amazing Race 23 finally got in touch with Amy and Jason after their spontaneous application a year and a half earlier, they decided to go through with the contest and see what they were made of. By working hard, forming alliances with other teams and sticking together, Amy and Jason made it through with their dignity and their love for each other fully intact.

“This couldn’t have happened at a better time for us. It has made me fall so much more in love with her,” Jason said.

Amy confirmed that she is feeling exactly the same way as her boyfriend now that they have not only finished The Amazing Race 23 but taken home the $1 million prize.

“Now that we completed the Race, we’ve experienced so many highs and lows. I really do feel we can undertake everything. This is definitely the beginning of my happily ever after.”

Please check your grammar. Paragraph four should begin: “She and her boyfriend”.
