When Australian-born Chris Hemsworth, 30, and his lovely wife, Spanish actress Elsa Pataky, 37, appeared at the Golden Globes recently, Pataky’s pregnancy was reasonably obvious, but now the news is that the golden Hollywood couple are actually expecting twins.
Yes, not one, but two babies are heading to the Hemsworth household to join their lovely daughter, India Rose, who will turn 2 years old just after the twins are born in the spring of 2014.
According to E! Online, when at the Golden Globes, Hemsworth was seen to be affectionately patting his wife’s rounded abdomen, although she didn’t look exactly huge. It tends to come as a bit of a surprise to find out that two babies are the order of the day and not just one.
When seen at the event, Hemsworth was devilishly smart in a Dolce & Gabbana tux, while his lovely wife Pataky looked stunning in a black Paule Ka gown which flattered her expanding figure beautifully.
Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky started dating back in early 2010 and were married in December that year. Around 18 months later, daughter India Rose appeared on the scene, and the newest pregnancy was officially announced back in November 2013.
Hemsworth is mostly well known for the Thor and Rush movies and Pataky is, of course, well known for Fast and Furious.
Interestingly, the beautiful pair was spotted in Spain’s Canary Islands around the time of the pregnancy announcement. Hemsworth was on the island of La Gomera, and was being filmed for an upcoming movie, In the Heart of the Sea, based on the same story that inspired Herman Melville to write his classic novel, Moby Dick. Hemsworth will be playing the part of a shipwrecked sailor.
The whole family was in attendance and, rather ironically, were involved in a minor shipwreck all of their own during their stay in the island. The catamaran they were sailing in with several other people accidentally ran aground, but no one was injured and fortunately this does not seem to have had any bad effects on the pregnancy.
Meanwhile Hemsworth is very excited about the whole thing and says that he has “embraced fatherhood” and that it is “the greatest thing I’ve ever been a part of.”
Chris Hemsworth recently told Parade magazine that he feels that being parents brings the child out in us all. He says that parenthood is beautiful, as it reminds you of the fascination you had with things as a child. Of course that same fascination tends to fade when we head into adulthood, as we become more jaded about the world and our surroundings. Kids bring that feeling right back.
Talking of the twins, it is unknown whether the lucky parents know the gender of their two future arrivals. If they do know, they aren’t telling anyone just yet.
Until then, it is good news to hear that Chris Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky are officially expecting twins and looking forward to the pitter-patter of four more tiny feet.
