A massive fire has broken out just after midnight in a seniors’ home in Quebec, Canada. The fire in the 52-unit complex started around 12:30 A.M. in a small town called L’Isle-Verte about 140 miles from Quebec city. Currently many elderly people are unaccounted for with at least three believed dead.
Quebec Provincial Police Sgt. Ann Mathieu has said that the police have a list of about 31 people that they are searching for. The Mayor Ginette Caron said that many of the people living at the home were confined to wheelchairs and only five of them were able to walk independently. She also said that some of the suffered from Alzheimer’s.
