The tiny reality star “Honey Boo Boo” from the TLC reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, whose real name is Alana Thompson and her family, were involved a car accident on Monday evening. This information came from her family on Tuesday. The car they were riding in reportedly rammed with a truck when the driver of that truck ran through red light and smashed into the famous family’s vehicle as they making a turn in their Georgia hometown.
Mama June, who is Alana’s mother, stated that it was very scary for the entire family because that was the first time any of them had ever been involved in any type of car wreck. She added that they all were definitely sore, but that their top priority was to enjoy Pumpkin’s birthday. She was 14 on Tuesday and no matter how sore any of them felt, they were going to go out and celebrate. She also said that she wanted to thank everyone for all their well wishes and support.
Various family members were reportedly taken to a local hospital by their bodyguard in an SUV. An ambulance did show up but Mama June said that the paramedics wanted to take the family to a hospital they did not care for so they went to the other hospital in the SUV with their private protection.
Alana’s father, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson was the one doing the driving when the crash occurred. He was attempting to make a left turn when the truck struck them. It is being reported that allegedly the second vehicle had the right of way, but it had its headlights off. He received a concussion.
Witnesses reiterate the story that Alana and her family were sitting at a red light, just waiting to turn left. Sugar Bear got the green light and he began to make his turn. A guy was driving a truck and was allegedly speeding, going in the opposite direction. He had his lights turned off and he smashed right into them.
There were two of Alana’s sisters, “Pumpkin”, whose real name is Lauryn Shannon and “Chubbs”whose real name is Jessica Shannon, were also inside the vehicle when the accident happened. “Honey Boo Boo” herself had a headache after the crash occurred, stated Lauryn Shannon.
Lauryn added that her mother June is suffering from back and neck injuries and that she herself has nasty chest bruising and is now having to go through panic attacks.
It is also being reported that the vehicle itself was a Suburban, which was only about 6 months old and reportedly was not even paid off.
The reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is scheduled to start showing all new episodes on TLC on Jan. 16. The show tracks the capers of Alana, age 8, and her flamboyant family. It has not been reported yet if this accident will be included into the show or not. It is unknown if filming is still going on for the new season at this time.
If so, the tiny reality star “Honey Boo Boo” may not want to be reminded of this event in her life.
