Justin Bieber’s fan base, the Beliebers, still believe in him despite the latest drug seizure which broke the news yesterday. The Los Angeles Times has reported that the drugs seized on site at Bieber’s home in Calabasas may not be cocaine, as originally thought. Further testing is being conducted to determine the exact substance that was confiscated from Bieber’s home.
The drugs were found Tuesday morning at Bieber’s home in a search raid, and a friend of his, Xavier Smith, who goes by the stage name Lil Za, was arrested. Originally, a felony search warrant had been released to investigate Bieber’s home after a neighbor had reported $20,000 worth of property damage from last Thursday’s egging incident involving Bieber and his friends. The neighbor reported having no idea what would have prompted Bieber to act like this. “It was unprovoked, as I have not seen the kid in months.”
A search warrant was then released to seize the video surveillance or “other possible evidence” of the egging incident. If found guilty, the next step would be prosecution. A felony charge is raised for any damages that amount over $950.
Despite Justin Bieber’s latest drug seizure and run-in with the police, his fan base, the Beliebers, still continue to believe in him and have been voicing their staunch support of him in a Twitter firestorm under the hashtag, #WeAreWithYouJustin:
Kelly Osbourne amongst other celebrities also chimed in, tweeting “You play you pay, but really who gets arrested for throwing a bloody egg! #Hollyweird.”
Maejor Ali, Bieber’s producer, also came to his defence: “Shame on you LA County sheriff office and shame on the judge who signed a search warrant for investigated egg-throwing in Calabasas.” He went on to accuse them of wasting taxpayer money on the raid with guns drawn, while other communities would hardly have one officer dispatched for dangerous crimes. Despite Justin Bieber’s associations and latest drug seizure, it seems as if his fans, the Beliebers, still staunchly believe in him.
The current incident is only one in the latest of Bieber’s publicized life. Last year was marked with a growing degree of bizarre antics and negative publicity. Just before Christmas he announced his retirement but rescinded the declaration shortly after with the words, “Be kind loving to each other, forgive each other as God forgave us through Christ Merry Christmas IM HERE FOREVER.”
In London last year, he had a short verbal altercation with a photographer that stopped short of physical violence prior to a show. A slew of bad publicity ensued after one show in Buenos Aires where it emerged that he had begun kicking the Argentine flag it and using it as a mop before it was removed from him by the stagehands.
However, Bieber did have the wherewithal to apologize for this incident, apologizing to his Argentinian fans that he had mistaken it for something else: “…Even if it was a flag, I would never do anything to disrespect Argentina or the people or Argentina or the fans. I’m so sorry for anyone who took my actions the wrong way and I hope you can forgive this mistake.”
In Brazil, he was also charged with a minor offence for spraying graffiti onto an abandoned wall. Despite Justin Bieber’s antics, it is still something to be said that his fans, the Beliebers, still continue to believe in him despite his private-life scandals and the latest drug seizure.
