Usher has flown to Panama to see Justin Bieber for an intervention, according to TMZ. The R&B superstar is reportedly worried about the 19-year-old Canadian singer.
The R&B singer helped Bieber to stardom in 2009 after spotting him, and is now trying to help him get his life back on track. He decided Panama was as good a place than anywhere else and interrupted the 19-year-old’s vacation. Scooter Braun, Bieber’s manager, and Ryan Butler went along for the ride.
According to Hollywood Life, Bieber’s friend Ryan Good and his mother may have also joined the three as they attempted to help the Baby singer. However, it is unclear whether they want him to seek medical help or just want to convince him to take more control over his life.
During the trip, both singers posed for pictures with fans in the area. The pictures soon ended up on Instagram over the weekend. Braun was also involved in pictures during the trip for the intervention.
It would seem someone needs to knock some sense into Bieber. Ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez, already tried by giving the singer an ultimatum of losing her or rehab for his drug addiction and mental problems. Bieber decided that jetting off to Panama with model “enabler”, as Gomez called her, Chantel Jeffries was a better idea.
So far, the word intervention hasn’t specifically been used, but Usher going to Panama to see Bieber has the signs of it. It is unlikely that the 35-year-old would go to encourage the teenager to continue on his path of destruction.
Bieber has had a media-filled start to the year. It all started at the beginning of the month when he was accused of throwing eggs at a neighbor’s home. According to the neighbor, the eggs caused $20,000 worth of damage. Bieber was not arrested since the evidence was never conclusive. There was a video, but seeing the teen clearly enough wasn’t possible.
However, the 19-year-old didn’t manage to escape the law completely. Police searched his home to find surveillance of the vandalism. Instead, Guardian Liberty Voice shared reports that they had found a house full of drugs and paraphernalia instead. The police couldn’t take anything since it was all out of the scope of the warrant.
Bieber was in Miami during some of the raid in his home, where he was back in the news due to DUI and drag racing. This time he was arrested and taken to the county jail for booking. There have been mixed reports, but he was eventually charged with DUI, driving without a valid license and resisting arrest. Reportedly, the singer had admitted to drinking alcohol while taking a mixture of anti-depressants and pot.
Bieber is currently surrounded by people who are letting him continue in his downward spiral. He needs people who will help him get his life on track and who he will listen to. Gomez has tried and given up. Now it is up to his mom, childhood friends, manager and Usher to do an intervention and get Bieber all the help he needs.
