Kanye West is under investigation for allegedly assaulting a teen who was heckling West’s famous fiancé, Kim Kardashian, in Beverly Hills earlier today.
The 36-year-old performer reportedly attacked the unidentified 18-year-old male who was screaming at Kardashian. The unidentified alleged victim is said to have begun unleashing a string of racial slurs and profanity toward the reality star after she chastised him for using foul language and racial slurs in reference to the paparazzi trailing her on her way to meet West at a design appointment.
A source is reported as saying that the man “was in her face” in a stairwell where he continued to “verbally assault” the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star who was genuinely frightened. The source went on to say that West called Kardashian to find out where she was as this was happening and was alarmed because she was “crying hysterically” and he could hear the man continuing to barrage his fiancé with racially charged insults.
Kardashian reportedly saw the man who had verbally attacked her enter a nearby chiropractic office and she and West entered shortly thereafter to confront him. Witnesses say that West, known for his short temper, confronted the teen, who was reportedly “taunting” West, and punched him in the face as Kardashian stood by screaming. The two men were reportedly separated by a massage therapist working in the office. Multiple witnesses also say that they captured the incident on tape.
Beverly Hills Police arrived on the scene in response to a 911 call, but did not come into contact with West, as he has already left the scene of the alleged incident. Police say the incident is still under investigation. West could reportedly face misdemeanor battery charges for the alleged crime.
According to reports, Kardashian put on a calm, cool and collected face following the incident, but she is no doubt bothered by her fiance’s continued brushes with the law. She is reportedly consulting with legal counsel about today’s incident.
West is still facing charges of battery and attempted grand theft stemming from another incident last summer. He is alleged to have attacked a paparazzi photographer, Daniel Ramos, at the Los Angeles International Airport. West has pleaded not guilty to the charges in that case and has claimed that he was acting in self defense. He is set to return to court for a hearing on Jan.23. He faces a maximum penalty in that case of two six month jail terms.
It has also been reported that Ramos hired legendary civil rights attorney, Gloria Allred, to file a civil suit against West alleging that the star should be held liable for assault, battery, negligence and violation of Ramos’ civil rights.
No wedding date has been set for the power couple’s nuptials yet, but Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner has suggested that it could be soon. The couple welcomed their first child, North West, to the world in June and became engaged in October when West surprised Kardashian with an over-the-top $3 million proposal. At this point though, Kardashian may simply be hoping that her groom-to-be can avoid jail in relation to today’s alleged assault against a teen heckler until they can say “I do.”
