While already trying to deal with Justin Bieber’s latest antics, Selena Gomez has now had to handle an intruder at her home. On Saturday night, police were called as someone spotted a young man on the singer’s property.
Police were called by someone within the property, although they could not confirm it was the former Disney star. They could not even confirm if the star was in the home at the time, so she could just be dealing with the aftermath. They did, however, arrest a 19-year-old man at the property for trespassing.
During Saturday, Gomez was in the recording studio, where she tweeted a picture to her fans. The caption with the image simply said “therapy,” although it is unknown whether she meant therapy from the intruder incident or her troubles with ex-boyfriend, Bieber.
Sources told Hollywood Life that Gomez has given the Canadian singer an ultimatum; he either goes to rehab or he will lose her completely. On Friday, he was spotted leaving Miami and by Saturday he was in Panama, clearly showing his intentions to continue in his downward spiral. Will Gomez leave him to his own downfall? Sources say that she is now going to watch him from a distance, but she does still care for him.
The intruder incident was reportedly a young man wanting to catch a glimpse of the star. This is not the first time Gomez has had to deal with a delusional fan; in 2011, it was much worse. She had to deal with a 48-year-old man who believed they were soul mates. After restraining order attempts failed, the deranged fan admitted that she needed protection from him and the then-teenager was granted a protection order for three years.
The 21-year-old has been back in the public eye, since Bieber’s arrest on Thursday, after which he was charged with driving without a valid licence, DUI and resisting arrest. She was spotted out with friends, including Demi Lovato – possibly to party her worries away – and was also seen buying cigarettes; the latter is out of character for the former Wizards of Waverly Place star.
Many want to see how she will now deal with the revelation that Bieber is in Panama with model Chantel Jeffries. The model was in the passenger seat at the time of the Canadian singer’s arrest. Bieber had previously told Gomez that Jeffries was just a friend, but it seems the 21-year-old actress and singer doesn’t really care. She views the model as an enabler and welcomes Bieber to her, although that does not stop her wanting her former boyfriend to get help for his alleged drug abuse and mental problems.
The star has been looking for a new property and last year looked for one close to Bieber’s residence in Los Angeles. However, she is now looking outside that area, too, showing that she is moving on. After the latest trespassing incident, the star may make moving her top priority, according to the Daily Mail. However, Gomez does have a lot to deal with between Bieber, the intruder and continuing her music career.
