According to authorities actor and comedian Chris Kattan was cuffed and stuffed into a police cruiser after striking a DOT vehicle with his Mercedes on California’s highway 101. The alleged charge was suspicion of DUI.
A highway patrol officer claims Kattan was weaving in and out of his lane before finally hitting the DOT vehicle around 2 a.m. Monday in Los Angeles.
Kattan was a member of the star studded Saturday Night Live cast in which he co-starred from 1996 to 2003 alongside Will Ferrell and many others who have succeeded in Hollywood. Fans also remember him also from the 1998 film Night at the Roxbury.
Apparently the actor drove into the parked DOT vehicle that belonged to a roadside maintenance crew who were working on a guardrail at the time. No one has been reported injured.
The 43-year old comedian was booked and jailed for suspicion of DUI. Not a comical situation for the man who made us laugh night after night as the character “Mango.” Kattan was released from custody on a $15,000 bond around 7:30 a.m. according to police.
