JK Rowling recently realized she made a mistake after she marred Hermoine Granger to Ron Weasley instead of having Hermoine marry Harry Potter. Rowling said she felt Hermione would have been better off with Harry Potter and that Ron and Hermoine would have ended up in marriage counseling. Readers of the popular series learned this decision in the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows when the epilogue explains that Hermoine married Ron and the couple had two children, Ron and Hugo.

Rowling also said she did not base the marrying decision on literature and instead stuck to the original plot she imagined when she thought of the idea of the book. She originally planned for Hermoine to end up with Ron. Emma Watson, who plays Hermoine in the film adaptions, agreed with Rowling by saying that she thinks that there are fans out there who know that as well and wonder if whether Ron would have really been able to make her happy. Rowling also said that she wrote the relationship between Hermoine and Ron in the form of a wish she wanted to fill while writing the book. That is how she saw it.

After Rowling admitted she made a mistake after she married Hermoine¬†Granger to Ron Weasley, she apologized to her fans by saying that she is sorry and that she can hear the rage and fury this may cause for fans. She continues by saying that she is being absolutely honest when she says that distance has given her a perspective that it was a choice she made for personal reasons and not for credibility reasons. She asks if she is breaking people’s hearts by saying this and responds by saying that she hopes not.

Fans of the series have shown their opinion on the issue via the Internet. Users of the popular Harry Potter themed website, MuggleNet.com, expressed their opinion on the topic. One user, named ana, said that she was heartbroken. She said that Ron and Hermoine’s relationship is wonderful because it is far from perfect at the beginning of the series and slowly, ingeniously develops into her favorite couple in the series. She further expresses her concern by saying that she could discuss for days why she loves both characters.

Another user named militant delusionalist said that Hermoine deserved someone better and that Ron would have been insecure. Militant delusionalist continues by saying that the two would not have had a healthy relationship. The commenter also says that Harry always said good things about Hermoine. He says that both of them would have been powerful wizards and would have been more compatible because they were brought up as Muggles or non-wizards.

Harry Potter author, JK Rowling, started an uproar with fans when she admitted she made a mistake after she married Hermoine Granger to Ron Weasley. She was going to marry Hermoine to Harry Potter. Rowling based the decision on her original plot and not for credibility. She hoped she was not breaking fans hearts from admitting this flub. Fans had mixed reactions with the mistake; some agreed with her while others disagreed.

This was not the first time Rowling made a writing mistake like this. In a DVD extra feature for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows she admitted that she was going to kill off Ron by saying that she planned from the beginning that none of the characters would die. Then in the middle of the series, she thought this was a reflection of that she was not in the happiest of places. she began thinking that she might punish one of them out of sheer spite. Rowling then says that in her absolute heart of hearts, she did seriously think of killing off Ron. Even if fans are not happy with her decision, they still continue to love the book series that has sold over 450 million copies.
