Missing Child Possibly Murdered by Father and Fed to Pit Bull

Serenity Brown, age 2, strangely disappeared in 2006 but city social workers did not find out about this until a 2011 visit to her mother’s apartment in Brooklyn where they discovered it was possible the child could have been murdered by her father and fed to a pit bull. It had been over eight years; the child was never reported missing. Edward Brown and Paula Johnson did not report their daughter was gone, but cops opened an investigation when the mother began to reveal horror stories about what allegedly happened in that apartment.

It has been reported to the media that the baby was perhaps beaten to death by her father, Brown, and then allegedly sliced into pieces and fed to a pit bull back in July of 2006. Law enforcement sources have stated that the mother, Johnson, was reading the child a story when Johnson alleges Brown, who is an ex-con, became enraged over the baby laughing. He supposedly slammed the child against a couch in the apartment’s only bedroom, leaving the baby stunned. He then allegedly hit the child in her chest and the body fell limp. The mother stated she placed an ear to the baby’s body but could not hear anything. She stated she began CPR on the baby.

However Johnson claimed Brown grabbed Serenity’s body from her, and carried the baby to the bathroom. He allegedly placed the baby’s body in the tub and filled it with water. Next he supposedly got a knife from the kitchen, turned up the radio and ordered Johnson to remain in the bedroom. Sources then state he went on to cut up the baby’s dead body. An anonymous caller later reported to police that Brown had fed the girls remains to a pit bull, which Brown then proceeded to kill in order to hide Serenity’s slaying.

This case was discovered in 2011 when social workers went to the Brown/Johnson apartment after reports had been filed that Johnson was not sending her son, age 12 to school. Johnson and Brown were divorced by this time and residing in different areas. Serenity was listed on public service records as getting public assistance, but she was nowhere in sight. Johnson first tried to say that the baby was in Alabama, staying with paternal grandparents, but she later told another story.

Serenity’s paternal grandmother stated that Johnson was the one to blame, not Brown. She wanted to know why Johnson would blame Brown and then say the child was with him? She added that the NYPD had been to her home looking for the child back in 2011 but that no police had been there since last winter.

A few relatives stated that they had long been curious about what had happened to Serenity. One man who claimed to be a cousin of the baby, but refused to be identified, stated he had not seen the child since she was an infant.

Serenity’s great-grandmother, who stated she did not want her name listed, wanted to know why Johnson never told anyone what Brown allegedly done to the baby. Why did she never say anything? asked the woman, who resides on Coney Island Ave. in New York City. As of this time, neither Brown nor Johnson have either one been charged with any crime to do with Serenity’s strange disappearance, and, if proven, extremely horrific murder.
