The notorious teenage “Craigslist killer,” Miranda Barbour, is awaiting trial for reportedly stabbing Troy LaFerrara multiple times on November 11. The 19-year-old has been sitting in a Pennsylvania jail cell awaiting a judge’s verdict. Barbour admitted to committing the murder with her husband. The couple’s three-week wedding anniversary was coming up, so they reportedly decided to kill someone together, calling it a “thrill kill” murder. The girl had allegedly used Craigslist Inc. to post an ad offering “companionship.”
Barbour says she has no remorse and “If I were to be released I would do this again,” she says. Barbour and her 22-year-old husband, Elytte, will both be facing the death penalty for LaFerrara’s death.
The 48-year-old man answered the ad, and went to meet Barbour in a shopping mall parking lot before they eventually headed to a different spot in Sunbury. In an interview with the Daily Item, Barbour said that she agreed to have sex with LaFerrara for $100.
Prosecutors say that Elytte hid beneath a blanket in the back seat of their car, waiting for his wife’s signal. When he got the signal, he jumped out from the back and wrapped a cord around LaFerrara’s neck. Barbour then allegedly stabbed the man 20 times. The victim’s body was discovered in an alley the next day.
Initially, Barbour told the police that she stabbed LaFerrara because he was trying to grab and choke her. Later, she finally came clean, admitting that she had committed murder once “things got out of control,” the teenage girl professed. Barbour had told her Craigslist Inc. victim LaFerrara, that she just celebrated her 16th birthday. LaFerrara then used blunt honesty, saying he’d still have sex with her. That was enough to set her off, particularly because she was allegedly a victim of molestation.
This weekend, Barbour said to an interviewer from the Sunbury, Pa. Daily Item newspaper that since the age of 13, she has been killing people. “I did this to people who did bad things” and then went on to say that all of those people did not deserve to be alive. How many people? “When I hit 22, I stopped counting,” she says.
Barbour’s supposed involvement with a satanic cult in Alaska, was what sparked her killing spree of 20 or more other victims. Barbour boasted about how she could remember everything about the murders saying “I can pinpoint on a map where you can find them.” The deranged teen admitted to hiding the bodies of her victims in California, Texas, and North Carolina as well as in Alaska. Apparently investigators are looking into these claims along with the FBI.
Apparently, the cult’s leader let Barbour join in on a hit of someone who owed him money. Barbour says the leader placed his hands over hers and they pulled the trigger together to make the additional and final shot. “From there I just continued to kill.” Says Barbour, and she regrets nothing.
The apparent teenage psychopath, who has a daughter, had most likely used Craigslist Inc. more than once to murder people. She allegedly studied her victims from afar, then befriended them before the heinous crimes were committed. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty against both Barbour and her husband.
