Mexican drug cartel leader Nazario Moreno Gonzalez, who was thought to be dead in 2010, dies a second time when forensic evidence from a shootout this morning in Mexico strongly suggests that it may be his corpse which was found at the scene. The slain drug lord also went by the name “El Chayo,” or “The Craziest One.” Authorities are waiting for DNA evidence to make an official announcement, which should in some respects explain how this cartel leader, who none other than former Mexican President Felipe Calderon, had announced was dead four years ago was able to die for a second time.
Gonzalez who was a leader with the Knight’s Templar drug family is thought to have finally died sustaining bullet injuries with Mexican marines early this morning. Even though it was previously announced that he was dead, his body was not recovered in 2010. In addition, it was widely believed that El Chayo was still alive as many have since reported seeing him. El Chayo was a ruthlessly violent cartel leader who practiced a strict religious doctrine that led him to build shrines himself, and so with a reputation of living notoriously and supernaturally larger than life, dying a second time would not be so strange.
