Dan Bilzerian loves poker, guns, girls and fast Italian cars. He has also developed a dedicated rash of haters who take to social media outlets to vomit their envy. Any 16-year-old guy would give their left nugget for his life. He has earned a name for being the world’s wealthiest playboy and is a self-acclaimed asshole with an Instagram feed of 370,000 followers to prove it. The likes of which would make Bruce Wayne and James Bond wince in inadequate embarrassment. GED graduate and Ex-Navy Seal candidate, Dan Bilzerian made it to college with the help of the G.I. Bill. His poker playing, extreme sports venturing antics have not come without a price. And age has helped him see the good his money could contribute to in the world. That’s not what people see, and that’s not the image he chooses to advertise. Dan Bilzerian, the playboy king many admire and others love to hate is Bruce Wayne in the flesh.
Dan Bilzerian is known as the richest playboy poker player the millennial generation has ever seen, but he admits he is not the king. “. . . I’m definitely not the best and I’m definitely not the worst. . .” His biggest win was the 2009 World Series of Poker. But since then, he has not taken any more big tournaments. He reportedly made the bulk of his fortune in cash games. This cannot be confirmed by outside sources, but one thing is certain, anything he touches or says in the public eye turns to Social media gold.
In January 2014 the world of poker lost its own left nugget over an interview with Card Player Magazine. In which, Dan Bilzerian suggested that Phil Ivey (nine time World Series of Poker bracelet winner) was broke. Ivey rebutted. “People can say what they want to say. I don’t really mind. I don’t really feed into that. I really don’t know the guy, so his opinion is his opinion. I mean he doesn’t really know my financial status. So it doesn’t really bother me too much . . .”
Ex-Navy Seal candidate, Dan Bilzerian made it to university after spending 510 days in Navy Seal training after which he was stripped of the honor due to a conflict with a commanding officer, says Bilzerian. “I called him a pussy,” he added, “I should have kissed ass a little more. I’m not very good at that.” While in college his brother Adam taught him how to play poker. But he lost all of his money during his second year due to the love of the game. Things got to the point where he had to sell a few of his guns, he said. After college he set his sights on the prize, got a bit more serious about the poker and “Life’s been good ever since.” Dan Bilzerian, the Bruce Wayne embodied playboy king said.
In August, 2011 while playing non-stop poker he flew from Maui and Las Vegas twice in three days with no sleep. Consequently, he suffered a heart attack, or so he thought. Rushed to the hospital his physician explained to him that luck was on his side this time. He had only suffered a pulmonary embolism. That would have made three heart attacks by the age of 30. Fast forward to 2014, with age comes wisdom. Instead of purchasing five loaded Hummer’s at $900 thousand each, he has begun to adopt the ideals of Robin Hood. “Yeah, there is nothing normal about winning or losing $10 million in a single night. . .” Bilzerian added. “[E]specially when you start giving to charity and you realize how many people you could help out with that kind of money. Even if you had $1 billion, $10 million is a lot.”
That is not what people see, and that is not the image he chooses to advertise. In 2013 he set up The Robin Hood Project to give to the needy. But, only $10,000 at a time, any more is taxable in America. Additionally, he is helping out a woman who “lost all her limbs; I’m trying to make her house more handicapped-accessible.” Bilzerian said. “. . . If you just looked at my pictures, you’d think I was completely out of my mind, doing wild shit 24/7, because that’s what I’m putting out there, because that’s what the people want to see. . . “
Dan Bilzerian’s lifestyle is over the top for many of his critics; yet, envied by his 370,000 plus Instagram fans. There is great attraction in having power and no responsibility; yet, he acts like Robin Hood behind social media doors. Playboy king Dan Bilzerian is the millennial Bruce Wayne, even if this is not the image he chooses to advertise.
