Outside linebacker Demarcus Ware had been release by the Dallas Cowboys. Ware was the 11th overall pick for the Cowboys in the 2005 draft from Troy University.
The Cowboys had told Ware that he would not remain on the roster at his current $12.25 million salary and wanted him to remain on the roster with a salary reduction. He had asked the team to make a decision on him before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET start of the NFL’s free-agency signing period.
Ware’s release comes after having only six sacks last season for Dallas, and missing games due to injury for the first time in his career.
