The debut for Lindsay Lohan’s reality show has gotten Oprah Winfrey worried. A trailer (included at the end of this article) shows how Lindsay’s behavior on set is everything Oprah believed would not happen.
In the video clip, Oprah said, “This is what everybody said was going to happen, and I believed differently.” Winfrey, sitting face to face with the new reality star, said, “You gotta cut the Bull****!”
Lohan has been struggling now for years in the publics view to get back on track. Despite the recurring court dates and repetitive rehab stints, Lohan doesn’t seem to give up on regaining her status as an “A list” actress. Back in 2013 the troubled actress sat down in a very candid interview with Oprah and said that the use of alcohol has been a “gateway drug” for the Lohan. The interview appeared on OWN network for Winfrey’s series The Next Chapter.
During the entire interview, Lohan sat very composed and it actually seemed that maybe the girl-gone-bad was finally heading in the right direction. Of course, the question on everyone’s mind was, was it the truth or was Lohan exhibiting exceptional acting skills? But Oprah believed in Lohan and repeatedly said how the television mogul wanted the young actress to turn the star’s life around and take the chance to make a serious comeback.
It is no surprise that the ratings for OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network) are struggling to compete with rival stations and by securing Lohan to a reality show deal is certainly one way of getting people tuned in. Lohan may be a hot mess to many of people but the Liz & Dick star isn’t going down without a fight. Oprah may have taken on this venture for ratings but it has gotten The Butler nominee worried that Lindsay Lohan could be more than what was bargained for.
The filming of the reality series, entitled simply “Lindsay,” began shortly after Lohan finished 7 months of rehab. It appeared that the young actress was doing well and that came across in the 2013 interview with Oprah. However, the trailer for “Lindsay” paints a quite contrasting picture with the Mean Girls star acting up, closing down sets and having it out with more than one person. Definitely a series that has potential for explosive ratings.
Lohan has been trying to reboot the actress career, but the good roles do not come to troubled stars who have the potential to cost production thousands and thousands of dollars. Lindsay’s latest film, The Canyons, did not get good reviews nor make it big in box-office numbers. Lohan also appeared in Scary Movie 5 and starred in Liz & Dick, a role that caused a bit of controversy. It seemed people did not take well to the idea that Lohan was set to play Taylor, a very respected actress in Hollywood.
Lohan’s parents are also slated to appear in “Lindsay” episodes and in the trailer; Lohan and dad Michael, have it out in a scene where the actress said, “Now you are making me angry, because you weren’t good for me for a long time in my life.”
The entire filming must have been one for the books and with the trailer of “Lindsay” finally released, it promises to be interesting to say the least. Lindsay Lohan has definitely gotten Oprah worried until, of course, the ratings start coming in. Hopefully that will make the whole thing worth while. “Lindsay” begins on Sunday, March 9 on the OWN Network.
