In what could potentially be the first breakthrough in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines jet that disappeared Saturday morning, Vietnamese searchers have reportedly spotted what they suspect are fragments of the aircraft. The fragments are believed to be the inner door and a portion of the tail. They were found roughly 50 miles southwest of Tho Chu Island.
Flight MH370, which was carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew members, was flying out of Kuala Lumpur and scheduled to land in Beijing at approximately 6:30 a.m. Authorities lost contact with the aircraft two hours into the flight and it is now suspected that the jet may have turned back before disappearing.
