Could Sarah Michelle Gellar announcing that she will cancel her ‘Vogue’ subscription because of Kim Kardashian being on the cover actually be due to jealousy? The Buffy the Vampire Slayer actress has been on the cover of a number of magazines, but never on Vogue. This is something that many celebrities fantasize about.
After the news that Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are on the cover of Vogue, Sarah Michelle Geller has announced on Twitter that she will cancel her subscription. Many of her fans took to the social media site to share her sentiments and agree that they would do the same.
The news broke yesterday that Kardashian and her fiance were on the cover of the hot magazine after the reality TV star announced it on Twitter. The 33-year-old has wanted this for some time, and reports started circulating that West begged the editor, Anna Wintour, to place the love of his life on it.
However, Wintour has since defended the actions. It was nothing to do with West begging the editor. She believes that the two share qualities that Vogue wants to portray.
It looks like the former fictional vampire slayer does not agree. However, that could be bitterness, and a number of those retweeting and replying to the Cruel Intentions star have questioned her about this. Is there any reason for Gellar to be jealous of Kardashian for being on the cover of Vogue?
The 36-year-old has had an amazing career, and still has a large following despite no longer appearing as much on TV screens for current shows. While she is currently on the Crazy Ones, she has mainly stuck to voice work, especially when it comes to former Buffy co-star Seth Green’s Robot Chicken.
The shows and movies she is best known for include Buffy the Vampire Slayer, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scooby Doo. In her defense, she has taken time out to focus on her family. After marrying Scooby Doo co-star, Freddie Prince Jnr., she has since had two children.
She has appeared on the cover of a number of hit magazines, and not just the gossip magazine covers that Kardashian seems to populate. Some of Gellar’s magazine covers include Seventeen and the British magazine Elle. Furthermore, the star is a celebrity for her acting skills, not just because she managed to get her own reality TV show. Arguably, the actress has earned her status, unlike Kardashian.
The star is not the only one to show a dislike to Kardashian and West being on the cover. Everyday users mentioned that they would cancel their Vogue subscriptions if they had one. One user even joked that the couple did not look like Jay-Z and Beyonce due to the use of the hashtag #WorldsMostTalkedAboutCouple.
However, a number of users have hit back at the Ringer star for her comments, including Kardashian’s PR specialist and BFF Jonathon Cheban, who had the audasity to ask who the actress even was to tweet her thoughts. The tweet initially gives the impression that Gellar is jealous of Kardashian for landing the Vogue cover, but there really is no need when she has earned her place in Hollywood.
