Texas Father Kills Teen Boy He Finds Hiding in Daughters Bedroom

Texas sheriff’s deputies from Harris County are investigating the deadly shooting of a teen boy, age 17, after a father found the boy hiding inside the man’s teenage daughter’s bedroom and fatally shot him early on Thursday morning. Police officials explained that the father, age 55, has yet to be charged on anything and investigators are going to ultimately hand over what they find to a grand jury to deliberate on possible arrest charges.

According to a news outlet from Houston, the occurrence started when the girl’s brother went to her room to tell her good night. That was when he noticed two feet sticking out from beneath the bed of his sister, age 16. The brother grew alarmed and went to their father, telling him what he had seen. The father then proceeded to the girl’s bedroom to investigate the situation for himself.

When the father provoked the teen boy, who was identified as being Johran McCormick, the man’s daughter said that she did not know who McCormick was or why he was in her bedroom. The father proceeded to call nine-one-one around 2:32 a.m., explained the police. Next a fight between the father and McCormick broke out. It was only later after police questioned the daughter that she admitted to letting the teen boy inside her bedroom and that she really had known him.

According to police reports, the father allegedly stated to sheriff’s deputies on scene that he happened to see the teenager let his hands drop and the father construed this as to mean some sort of endeavor to try and take ahold of something so he could attack the father. Next the father said the boy actually did attempt to grab something, and that was when the 55-year-old man opened fire. He shot the teen boy once and killed him at the scene, said deputies. He stated that he was supposedly defending his family and himself, the father felt he had to shoot in order to keep everyone safe.

McCormick was later declared dead at the scene of the crime and the father was rushed to a nearby hospital after stating that he felt ill, but it was believed he was taken there because he suffered from health problems that were unrelated to the shooting.

One neighbor of the family, who spoke to the public, said that as a mother she was unable to imagine what had happened inside the house. She stated that she understood the father was just trying to protect his family, but she though he should have allowed the proper authorities take care of it instead, if possible, then maybe a 17-year-old boy would not be dead now.

Other individuals in the neighborhood explained that the family had only been living in the home a week, were completely stunned by the tragedy. One person declared that the family had just moved in the house seven days ago, literally a week. This person said that the entire family was very quiet and that she had never heard a sound from any of them until now.

The deadly shooting is being left an open case and is also considered an ongoing investigation by the police investigators who, as of Thursday night, were not yet releasing the name of the shooter even though the victim’s name had been released. It’s sad but that’s the risk you take when you enter someone’s home unlawfully. I

Do not excuse the young man who entered through the window in the first place. He was wrong and the girl was wrong. There are always consequences for bad choices. Now the 17 year is dead because he was thinking with the wrong head. He did not belong in that house at 2:30 in the morning. Bad move on his part! Don’t even think about coming in my house uninvited you will be shot!

Can’t believe he didn’t get his feet out of sight; and, how typical: her little brother snitched (well, that’s brothers & sisters for you)! He should have gone out the window A.S.A.P., and run like hell, after that kid poked his head in to “say goodnight” to her… .

The story makes no sense. How could anyone possibly believe that the daughter did not know a boy was under her bed. Just another example of what happens in a country where too many people are gun obsessed. The poor kid was unarmed just hanging out with a girl he met. Now he is dead.

You know, the daughter should be charged with some falsification thingy. That’s just stupid of her to deny knowledge of him in front of everybody.

Look at the bright side: the deceased won’t earn his way into prison like most of his demographic group.

Don’t blame the daughter for the death. Its not her lie that killed him but the father’s lack of judgment and situation handling skills. What threat the 17yr old was to his family? Was he armed??

    Complete acquittal must follow.
I am a father of a girl and I would not even bother calling the 911, if I see an intruder in my house, espec. in my daughter’s room, I will shoot him without questions and delay

    Doug,
I read your FaceBook, and was not impressed with your articulation either.
    James,
I guess the father shouls have allowed a potentially deadly intruder prowl around inside his house. By all means allow your daughter to be raped, but never arm yourself against an intruder; that would be uncivilized.

As a single father of a teen girl, I’d expect certain amount of permiscuity…however, when your caught, your caught. Don’t lie!
As for the father, kudos for protecting your family…but really. I think a god butt chewing would have kept him away. Too many snap decisions cost a horny kid his life. A lot of people will be hurting for a long time, especially the boys mom…the young girl…and her father. They’ll never stop wondering if things could have turn out differently.

See this what happens when kids think their grown. The daughter knew better and now a kid is dead because of her bad decision to let the boy in the house, then on top of that she lied and say she didn’t know him wow! JUST LIKE I SAID THE DAUGHTER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT DEATH AS WELL…..SMDH

I feel the same way about the daughter she definitely is just as responsible for his death Cuz like I said before if she didn’t lie about knowing him he probably wouldn’t be dead right now

As a mother I probably would have done the same thing because at the moment he was known as an intruder until the daughter fessed up and said that she knew him! If the girl wouldn’t have lied in the first place the poor kid would most likely still be alive and that’s something that she will have to live with the rest of her life that her lie killed an innocent boy
