Ukraine Navy Chief Fired

Ukraine
Just weeks after Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych fired the head of the army and replaced him with Yuriy Ilyin, Navy Chief, Ilyin has been fired by the Ukraine for refusing to fight the Russians and for surrendering headquarters at Sevastopol. The now former navy chief is being charged with treason.

Deposed President Yanukovych has been in hiding in Russia since threats had been made to his personal safety. Navy Chief Ilyin has reportedly defected to Russia from the Ukraine since being fired. It is alleged he will support Crimea’s pro-Russian authority.
