Bethenny Frankel is the epitome of resilience. She rolls with the punches and keeps moving forward. At one time in the mogul’s life, she was viewed as the underdog by her associates. Most underdogs win over the hearts of the audience because they have a never-say-die attitude, and watching their journey from the bottom to achieving it all, everyone roots for them, cries with them, and celebrates with them. Bethenny Frankel, however, refused to accept the label of underdog given to her by former Real Housewives of New York cast mate Ramona Stanger. Bethenny mastered the art of moving on.
The Skinny Girl mogul can remember days when she could not afford to pay her rent. She had just been cast on the Real Housewives of New York and barely had cab fare to get around the city. Bravo thrust her into a circle of Manhattan socialites who were successful women making millions, and Bethenny felt like a fish out of water. But being a survivor of a tumultuous upbringing in New Jersey, she was determined to capitalize on the Bravo opportunity. She had a brainchild for a low-calorie margarita mix with which she approached several investors. She was steadily turned down until finally her luck began to shift.
While taping Real Housewives of New York, Bethenny launched her Skinny Girl margarita mix. Suddenly, her cast mates began to turn on her and she found herself alone on the show. Bethenny took the jabs and kept going. She received a reported $25 million for her brand, married her then-boyfriend Jason Hoppy, and gave birth to their daughter Bryn all within a year. Bethenny did not let anything stop her from getting what she had sweat blood and tears to obtain. Her luck kept growing when she was surprised with the opportunity to have her own talk show. She taped over 100 episodes while still in control of her Skinny Girl brand, raising Bryn, and struggling to hang onto her marriage. With her chaotic schedule, something was bound to give for the talk show host. Unfortunately, Jason Hoppy became a casualty of her success. Her bitter divorce continues to linger today. Bethenny was then hit with the bombshell that her talk show was getting canceled. Fans started looking at the star thinking, “everything that goes up must come down.” But Bethenny does not think that way. She believes in moving on.
The multi-millionaire was recently interviewed on Andy Cohen’s Watch What’s Happening Live in which she sat next to former cast mate Ramona Stanger, who just a few years ago looked down on Bethenny, referring to her as the underdog of their circle. Reportedly, Bethenny now sits just as successful if not more than all of her former cast mates combined. When asked what was next for the former reality star, as Bethenny always has her next move in the works, she said she is looking forward to spending more time with her daughter, attending yoga classes, and continuing to build her Skinny Girl brand. She does not see the cancellation of her talk show as a failure because she says that she did not feel comfortable in her skin as a talk show host.
Social media is buzzing that Bethenny might be reuniting with her old cast mates of the Real Housewives of New York. Bethenny has stated in the past that she has no desire to go backwards and deal with the drama of reality television again. But as the author of several books on health and positive thinking, she preaches that everyone must come from a place of yes in order to get anywhere in the world. So maybe Bethenny is considering a reunion or maybe a new talk show where she can completely let her hair down to be the quick-witted ball of fire for which her fans love her. It is always nice to have choices and options. Whatever direction Bethenny decides to flow, one thing her fans are sure of and have learned from the star, she will keep moving on…no matter what.
