Kathleen Sebelius has resigned her post as the US Secretary of Health and Human Services for the Obama Administration. Sebelius has been under pressure to resign by Republican law makers since the induction of the Affordable Care Act.
Sebelius announced today on Capitol Hill that an additional 400,000 people have signed up on the exchanges this week raising the current numbers to over 7.5 million Americans with new healthcare. The ACA, also known as Obamacare, is an internet site that allows for a one-stop healthcare insurance marketplace.
President Obama is expected to nominate Budget Director Sylvia Burwell to replace her.
