Last year, Kim Kardashian’s stepmom, Ellen Pearson started selling excerpts from her late husband, Robert Kardashian’s diaries to In Touch Weekly. Contained in those diary excerpts were shocking revelations that suggested Kim Kardashian was abused as a child.
In one supposed diary entry, dated during Kardashian’s childhood, Robert specifically made note of an incident where Kim’s mother, Kris Jenner had kicked and beat her, and that was just one of the many incidents that were chronicled in the handwritten pages.
According to sources, when Kim was only nine years old, Kris and Robert went through a bitter divorce. Robert noted in his diaries that Kardashian did not react outwardly to the divorce; however, she cried a lot when she was alone and did not think anyone was watching. Kim was not the only one of their children who took the divorce hard. Kourtney who was only 10-years-old at the time of the divorce exhibited major personality changes. She also became very withdrawn from everyone.
When Kardashian and her siblings learned that their stepmom was selling their fathers diary entries, they lashed out and called her a liar. They demanded that she stop spreading lies about their family and hand over of their father’s diaries as well as family photo albums. Pearson refused and continued to sell more and more excerpts from Robert’s diaries.
Kardashian has repeatedly stated that the diary entries were not real and that her stepmom had made it all up in an attempt to make money and hurt the family. When Pearson would not stop selling Robert’s diary excerpts, the Kardashian children filed a lawsuit against her. One of the complaints listed in the lawsuit claimed that Pearson was selling Kardashian family secrets, which suggests the entries were genuine and that it is possible that Kim Kardashian was abused as a child.
The diary excerpts provided to In Touch Weekly were handwritten and sources say the handwriting did in fact match Robert’s, suggesting even more that they were in fact his genuine recollections of family history. Therefore, if the diary entries contained family secrets, would that not suggest that the information contained in those excerpts was true, meaning they were Robert’s recollections and could not have been made up by Pearson.
While under oath giving a deposition in a lawsuit, Kim denied the validity of the diary entries and said that her mother had never kicked or beat her. So which one is it? Are the diary entries family secrets or lies – they cannot be both true and false.
However, if Kim or any of the other Kardashian children were in fact abused as children, it is understandable why they would want to keep that information a secret. After all, every family has some sort of skeleton they would like to keep hidden in the closet. The Kardashian children recently reached a settlement with Pearson and they will be getting their father’s diaries as well as family photos.
It is unclear whether the diary excerpts were in fact genuine and taken from Robert’s original diaries or if Pearson somehow fabricated them and sold them to In Touch Weekly as a way of making money and shaming the Kardashian family. Kim’s sworn testimony during deposition suggests that she was not abused as a child; however, there is no way to be certain if she is telling the truth or trying to protect her family’s image.
