Lupita Nyong’o Remains Extremely Humble

Lupita Nyong'o Remains Extremely HumbleLupita Nyong’o has been in the spotlight since she won an Oscar for her jaw-dropping performance in 12 Years a Slave. Nyong’o is stunningly beautiful and absolutely brilliant; her talent seemingly knows no bounds. She has risen to the top of Hollywood very quickly and has now been named People’s most beautiful person of 2014. In the midst of her groundbreaking recent accomplishments, Nyongo remains extremely humble.

It is not every day that Hollywood is graced by the presence of someone who beams acceptance and love in the way that Nyong’o does. Before she was even awarded the honor of the most beautiful person of 2014, Nyong’o gave a speech addressing a girl who wrote her about being a dark-skinned girl in a white-dominated world. Nyong’o, with wisdom beyond her years, publicly read from the letter and addressed the girl directly with encouragement and reassurance that beauty comes from within. She emphasized that she too once felt unbeautiful; she was made fun of for her dark skin when she was younger, and is now acknowledged for her inner and outer beauty.

Nyong’o is 31 years old, and made her American-movie debut in 12 Years a Slave. Many other beautiful and worthwhile actresses were up for People’s most beautiful award, including Julia Roberts and Jennifer Lawrence. America loves Nyong’o, and many people could not be happier for the blooming star’s success. RSVP magazine could not agree more with People Magazine’s decision to label her the most beautiful woman in the world, and fans everywhere extend congratulations and love to the star on Twitter.

Nyong’o took a moment to publicly hope that her winning this award will help other girls of every race feel like they are finally noticed. Nyong’o’s wisdom comes from many personal details of her life, including her parents. Her father is a prominent Kenyan politician and her mother is the director of the African Cancer Foundation. She graduated from the Yale School of Drama and considers herself dual-cultural, being born in Mexico City and raised in Kenya.

Hollywood can be very hard on the self esteem of young women, especially those who have different colored skin than the majority of Hollywood headliners. Nyong’o entered the Hollywood scene at a critical time for her future and the future of young girls everywhere. The actress has remained extremely humble the entirety of her journey thus far, allowing her fans to see her caring and vulnerable heart. She even admits to not being fashionable in the least bit; she insists that she never bought fashion magazines and never tried to appear beautiful from clothing choices. She wears what is comfortable, which is a breath of fresh air for the meticulously expensive-dressed norm of Hollywood.

The young and old of the world are in love with Nyong’o and her effortless charisma. It is safe to say that the sky is the limit for this insanely talented human being. Even though she never dreamed that she could be People’s most beautiful person, it has happened and she takes the honor with admirably humble grace, touching people to the extreme ends of the earth.
