It has been nine years since the world saw Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie together on the big screen, not since the 2005 release of Mr. and Mrs. Smith when the epic “Brangelina” was formed. From that point on the couple has been a power house everywhere except in movies and the world is ready for the return of the dynamic due.
Rumors have been circulating that the couple will be back on the silver screen together in a yet to be titled film, which is written by Jolie. The Internet buzz is that the movie will revolve around a couple going away on vacation in hopes to work on their relationship which is in crisis and try to save their failing marriage.
Besides writing the film Jolie is also supposed to be producing and directing, as well as acting alongside Pitt, in the project. If Brad Pitt, 50 and Angeline Jolie, 38, will in fact being doing the project together and it has to undoubtedly be bittersweet, since the last time they worked together magic happened in more than one way.
As the world knows Mr. and Mrs. Smith, only grossed nearly $500 million worldwide and is where the epic love story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie first began. During a New York Times, interview back in 2008, Angeline Jolie explained how it is not often a person gets a chance to see the movie where their parents fell in love, talking about how she first met Brad Pitt on the set.
Now that the couple has their six children they usually avoid working on movies at the same time, so the news that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are teaming up again has fans everywhere anxiously waiting for more information, while the Internet has already been buzzing with hopes of a possible, Mr. and Mrs. Smith sequel.
Now their love story was not without controversy, at the time Brad Pitt was married to Jennifer Aniston (Friends, Meet The Millers) while he and Angeline Jolie were still filming, but the couple divorced in January of 2005. Three months later in April, Jolie and Pitt officially went public and never looked back.
Nevertheless, having six children has not slowed the power couple down in regards to the movie world. Working through his production company, Plan B, Brad Pitt recently worked on the Oscar-winning 12 Years a Slave and is also slated for an upcoming project with Shia LaBeouf, Logan Lerman, and Scott Eastwood, Fury, a WWII drama from Sony, slated for a November release. Plan B also just parted ways with its longtime home base, Paramount and signed a first-look deal with New Regency earlier this year.
While Angelina Jolie on the other hand was director and producer on her own World War II drama from Universal titled, Unbroken, scheduled for release on Christmas. Jolie will also be seen in her newest movie Disney’s Maleficent which will be out May 30, 2014.
Not much else is known about the new project, but what is known is that the Internet will continue to buzz with fan comments and thoughts on what the film should or will be about. As for now however, fans will just have to be happy with the news that their favorite couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will teaming up again to make movie magic.
