The 50-year-old actor Brad Pitt sports a new tattoo. The new tattoo was observed on Saturday, May 17, when photographers captured Brad Pitt having fun with neighbor Matthew McConaughey. Both actors were in New Orleans for the “Make It Right,” annual gala. The foundation was formed by Brad Pitt in 2007, to meet the needs of families and communities on the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
The new tattoo is an adaption from Rumi’s poem titled Out Beyond Ideas of Wrongdoing and Rightdoing. Rumi was a 13th century Persian jurist, poet, theologian and Sufi mystic. He is one of the most acknowledged poets of his era and his poetry transcends all barriers of religion and culture. Rumi’s poetry is enriched with deep meaning and so are the words of the tattoo that adorns Pitt’s bicep. It is a very simple tattoo; a readable lettering done in black and grey, placed on the inside of his upper right arm. The tattoo states, There exists a field, beyond all notions of right and wrong. I will meet you there. Brad Pitt is well-known for his affinity for nice tattoos. With approximately 12 tattoos on his body, Pitt and Jolie are rumored to have planned the latest tattoo as a celebration of their upcoming nuptials.
Tattooing is a very personal art. Only the owner of the tattoo can best explain the intent and meaning behind its specifics. However, the beautiful message in Brad Pitt’s latest tattoo, if seen in the context of the complete cascade, reads:
Rumi implies that the love between two individuals creates a dimension, a different world exclusively for the two in love. In that dimension, the lovers will find peace, and feel safe whenever they are together. In that unique world, feelings remain no longer impeded for the right words because the two in love, melt into each other, and unite to become one. The poem emphasizes on finding that dimension, that individual space, away from hate, misunderstanding, sadness, arguments and disagreements. A place that is beyond all that; a place of liberalism, understanding, and tolerance.
Pitt’s new tattoo gives deeper meaning to the special bond that he and Jolie share between one another. Rumors are swirling that the couple plans to tie the knot this year, having been in the relationship for almost nine years. Jolie went through a rough phase last year by undergoing a double mastectomy procedure. She said Brad had been very supportive through the rough patch and their relationship has grown even stronger.
In an interview to ABC, she hinted that her kids were in the driver’s seat when it came to wedding plans. When the time comes, she said it was important to her and Brad that their kids have a good time at the wedding. The kids have a “Paint-ball” wedding in mind when it comes time for their parents to walk down the aisle. In her interview with ABC, Jolie stated she had no issues with a “Paint-ball” wedding or any other wild fun ideas for the grand occasion.
