Social Media Is Everywhere

Social Media

Social media is everywhere for scattered about the web are many different sites for its servers. These allow people to connect and interact with family and friends from all over. Some social media sites are centered on one specific function such as sharing pictures or contributing art. Others carry a variety of services for the users. There seems to be social media hub for just about anything these days. Based on what the social media users have said, some of the content is better on another site that functions similarly to the one already in use. This brings a form of competition, as with any product. However, plenty of social media consumers use more than just one media hub therefore having endless accounts.

One such popular social gathering place is Facebook. It has been one of the fastest growing social media sites out there. It was created and started by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004 within the walls of Harvard University along with fellow students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes. At first, it was only open to the students of Harvard then to the other Ivy League schools about two months after. Today, the recognized logo can be found followed by the words “joins us on Facebook.” It has over one billion people that are active users. Many businesses also use Facebook in order to promote what they do on a broader scale.

Social media is everywhere and not just within hubs similar to Facebook. Deviant Art is for the artist’s soul to make its home. It is known to be one of the more popular sites for this type of social media, ranging from poetry, photography, digital artwork and much more. Deviant Art (D.A. for short) hosts its own chat room system as well as group. It also has a very strict art theft policy with punishments that include banning the account holder.

There are sites specifically made for uploading and sharing photos with other people. These include, but are not limited to, Instragram and Photobucket. Photobucket seems as though it is a bigger picture sharing hub because of its features such as being able to create photo albums. Instragram does not have this feature but that is not to say that it is not a proficient social media server according to many of its users. Social media is everywhere regardless of the location upon the internet.

Sites that are passed around mostly by word of mouth are also popular places to gather. Valurce, for example, looks to have this type of user base. It is a role-playing type of social media where writers of all skill levels partake in story writing. Some of this writing takes on a more gladiator vibe as the writers create characters and threads in which these characters spar one another. Another example of this type of social media is Gaiaonline.

It is known that many people use social media in order to make new friends, keep in touch with the old ones as well as to share things with family. It is an experience that is shared around the world. Social media is everywhere and only seems to be expanding further each day with systems updates, add-ons and performance advances. Perhaps a new next social media site is already being created.
