In the exit polls recently held to elect a new president for Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko emerged to be the new leader. The exit polls results show that the billionaire candy maker, who is known to have a close relationship with the West, won a landslide victory in the elections on Sunday. Poroshenko 48, ended up with 55.9 percent of the vote, which was verified by three survey agencies in Ukraine. If these results are verified on Monday, Poroshenko effectively avoids the runoff vote on June 15 that replaces the ousted Viktor Yanukovch, who fled in February. Ukraine hopes that the “Chocolate King” will bring them in the right direction after the recent separatist movement.
