‘Dumb and Dumber To’ Trailer: Losing Brain Cells is Definitely Funny

Dumb and Dumber To

For those who need to be mentally stimulated when viewing a movie, do not go and see the new Dumb and Dumber sequel. Twenty years after the first film was released, Peter and Bobby Farrelly directed Dumb and Dumber To, hoping to soon prove that losing brain cells is definitely funny. The Dumb and Dumber To trailer debuted to the public on June 11.

Loyal followers of the first film are sure to return to watch the next installment, looking forward to the gross humor, crazy antics, and utter stupidity that accompany Lloyd Christmas (Jim Carrey) and Harry Dunne’s (Jeff Daniels) quirky onscreen characters.

Dumb and Dumber To’s storyline (yes there actually is a plot) is centered on Daniels learning that he has a daughter and his quest to locate her. The two friends embark on a journey together to find Daniel’s offspring in the hope of gaining a new kidney.

Additional cast members include Kathleen Turner, Angela Kerecz, Laurie Holden, Robb Riggle, Rachel Melvin, and Erika Bierman, just to name a few. Jennifer Lawrence plays one of the characters in a flashback.

Dumb and Dumber To TrailerAlthough the movie does not hit theaters until November, the Dumb and Dumber To trailer is quite hilarious, confirming that losing a few brain cells here and there is definitely funny. Witnessing Carrey and Daniels moronic and idiotic behavior 90 minutes straight will most likely leave some viewers rolling on the floor laughing and smiling from ear to ear.

A few of the scenes featured in the trailer include the duo provocatively riding a deer statue, Carrey unknowingly fondling an old lady, Daniels ripping a catheter out of Carrey while he is staying at a mental institution, the friends lighting firecrackers off in front of someone’s door, and introducing the pair’s new pet cat “Butthole.”

Outlandish comedy seems to be the winning style for the Farrelly brothers who also directed and produced the widely successful There’s Something About Mary in 1998, and Me, Myself & Irene in 2000. The Farrelly brothers also recently directed the humorous movie Hall Pass with Owen Wilson, Jason Sudeikis, Christina Applegate and Jenna Fischer.

Dumb and Dumber To might also be exactly the boost that Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels need for their careers considering neither actor has had major success at the box office for several years. Since 2009, Carrey has starred in: Kick-Ass 2, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and I Love You Phillip Morris, and Daniels has played in: Looper, Good Night, and Good Luck., Howl and Paper Man; none of which were incredibly impressive movie roles or triumphant in the theaters.

Hopefully, Dumb and Dumber To will be a cult classic just like its first film and after watching the sequel moviegoers worldwide will gleefully recount the gregarious, dim-witted, and perverted scenes with their friends and family members.

If the amusing Dumb and Dumber To trailer is anywhere near as entertaining the entire movie, then losing brain cells is definitely funny and is certainly worth a good laugh.
