Jason Momoa Will Be Aquaman in Batman Vs. Superman

Jason Momoa from the first season of Games of Thrones (HBO) will be in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice as Aquaman, according to a source who spoke to Hitflix. Though this has not been officially announced yet by DC, Warner Brothers or Legendary Pictures, the source who revealed this information to Hitflix also stated that director Zack Snyder has finalized the design for how Aquaman will look in the movie.

Aquaman in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice is, according to the Hitflix source, reportedly not happy at all with the environmental impact that General Zod’s terraforming machine, the World Engine, from Man of Steel, had on the Indian Ocean. General Zod was attempting to use the World Engine to make Earth into a new Krpton, and if all of humanity should perish in the attempt, as well as many other life forms, that would be totally fine with Zod.

Aquaman, who has the ability of communicating telepathiclly with aquatic life and getting them to obey him in his efforts to fight criminals, has been around in comic books for quite a while. He made his first appearance in DC’s More Fun Comics #73 (November 1941). The deposed king of Atlantis was also one of the founding members of the Justice League of America, as well as appearing in his own line of comic books.

Though Jason Momoa’s role in Batman vs. Superman is not expected to be a big one, it does set up Aquaman’s returning in the Justice League movie that Batman vs. Superman is setting up. Batman vs. Superman is going to hit movie theaters on May 6, 2016.

When he’s been asked in the past if he was going to be Aquaman in Batman vs. Superman and the Justice League movie, Jason Momoa has heatedly denied it, and has even used several expletives. Over zealous members of the paparazzi, in their efforts to get a news story, can use tactics that often cross the border and end up annoying the very actors that they are seeking to get information from, which seems to have been the case with Momoa’s experiences with reporters.

Besides Jason Momoa, Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice will also star Henry Cavill returning in the dual roles of Clark Kent and Superman, Ben Affleck in the roles of Bruce Wayne and Batman, Jessie Eisenberg as the brilliant but evil genius Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot playing Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, and Ray Fisher as another of the founding members of the Justice League, Cyborg.

Also returning, as Lois Lane, will be Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne as Clark Kent’s boss Perry White, and Diane Lane playing Clark Kent’s mother. Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s butler, will be played by Jeremy Irons, and Holly Hunter will also be in the movie, though her role has not yet been specified.

Chris Terrio is in charge of writing a script for Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. It will be based on David S. Goyer’s screenplay for the flick. The movie will be produced by Deborah Snyder and Charles Roven, and the executive producers are David S. Goyer, Benjamin Melniker, Wesley Coller, Geof Johns, and Michael E. Uslan.

Production on Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice has begun, with some filming taking place at Michigan Motion Picture Studios. The movie will also be filmed in Detroit, as well as in Illinois, the south Pacific, and Africa.

Jason Momoa being confirmed to play Aquaman by a source who spoke to Hitflix brings the total number of superheroes that have so far been confirmed as being in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice to five. More actors and actresses are expected to be cast as other super heroes and villains in Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice, due to hit the movie theaters on May 6, 2016.
