Jennifer Lopez had a busy Thursday, both having performed at the opening ceremonies of the 2014 FIFA World Cup at the Arena de Sao Paulo, and denying rumors that she’s dating Dancing With the Stars pro dancer, Maksim Chmerkovskiy. It was all in a day’s work for the tanned and toned J-Lo, whose romantic entanglements have been the fodder of much media speculation.
Also of much speculation was whether Jennifer Lopez, 44, would be performing at all at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. There had been rumors circulating that the First Love singer had decided to bow out of performing, but she was there, in Sao Paulo, shakin’ it up and wowing the crowd of soccer fans in a short beaded costume.
Jennifer Lopez performed the official FIFA song We Are One (Ole Ola) in front of what was probably one of the biggest television audiences of her life, with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte. The crowd expressed their enthusiasm by their cheers and applause, as this year’s 2014 FIFA World Cup began with a bang, with Brazil winning the opening game against Croatia 3-1. Croatia took the lead early on, but Brazil came from behind and ended up the victors, according to Reuters.
Both Jennifer Lopez and Dancing With the Stars pro Maks Chmerkovskiy have been romantically linked with many love interests, especially, in J-Lo’s case, now that she’s officially split up with her boyfriend of almost three years, Casper Smart.
After a radio station tweeted that they had heard that J-Lo was dating once again after just having split up with Casper a week ago, the American Idol judge tweeted back the reply that she wasn’t, while also plugging her new album, AKA, set to hit the stores on June 17. When someone at the radio station then tweeted the question if Jennifer Lopez was “dating someone new,” she replied that she wasn’t “dating anyone new already.”
Jennifer Lopez danced onstage with Maks back in November when they both appeared at the American Music Awards. He was one of her backup dancers. Reps for both J-Lo and Maks haven’t issued any comments as to their supposed romantic involvement, perhaps because J-Lo’s tweeted denial speaks for itself. She didn’t let the rumors detract her from putting on an amazing performance at the 2014 FIF World Cup, though.
Before Maks was linked in some media sources with being the latest love interest of Jennifer Lopez, he was rumored to be romantically involved with the celebrity dancer he performed with during Season 18 of Dancing With the Stars, Olympic gold medal winning ice dancer, Meryl Davis. Maks has also been romantically linked with supermodel and actress, Kate Upton, and he is also said to have dated Erin Andrews.
Jennifer Lopez was married to husband number three, Marc Anthony, previous to her last long-term romantic relationship with her ex-beau, Casper Smart. J-Lo was married to Anthony from 2004 to 2011, and they had two children, twins Emme and Max, who are now six. Lopez was also engaged to Ben Affleck (2002-2004), and was romantically involved with singer Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs (1999-2001).
Jennier Lopez had an exciting Thursday, having performed the official FIFA song We Are One (Ole Ola) at the opening ceremony in Sao Paulo, Brazil, with Pitbull and Claudia Leitte, and keeping her twitter fingers flying denying rumors that she’s dating Dancing With the Stars pro Maks Chmerkovskiy. Lopez drew a spectacular response from the excited crowd who were there to cheer on their beloved Brazil soccer team in their eventual defeat of a gutsy Croatia, 3-1.
