Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson has filed a temporary restraining order against 49-year-old James Gorton Jr. On Wednesday, it was reported that he claimed God told him he should apparently become sexually involved with Benson. Gorton Jr. also claims that he felt himself and Benson had special ties after she apparently glanced at him one day on set of PLL. Benson’s character Hannah is known for being stalked, but now it seems as if fantasy is now seeping into reality in the eyes of the ex-security guard, who has now been fired from Warner Bros Studios. According to Gorton the one look Benson gave meant that she was interested in him as well. Though Gorton has been fired Benson feels like he is still a threat and may seek her out at her home. According to the court documents found by TMZ he is required to stay at least a 100 yards away.
Things escalated when Gorton was claiming that he was in a relationship with ex-Days Of Our Lives star. He then apparently made is sexual intentions known to Benson herself. This story was corroborated by Rick Warmack, who is the VP of studio protection for Warner Bros. According to Warmack, Gorton was making plans to marry Benson and hoping they could spread the word of God together and have a fairytale ending.
Though Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson has filed a restraining order, she is not the first to do so this year. Miley Cyrus was a recent victim this year as well when her stalker said her music spoke to him. There was even a recent case of Bead Pitt being attacked on the red carpet by a crazed fan. Many insist such incidents as these are just one of the many sacrifices to fame, but author Yveline Gequiere, who wrote the workbook, Stalkers Not Allowed, ! The 8 Secret Steps To Unlock Your Inner Powers To Stop Stalkers From Invading Your Privacy! insists there is a step-by-step process in order to prevent this from happening, whether it be stalkers or paparazzi. She insists that just because someone is a celebrity does not mean they should have to sacrifice their privacy.
Many can understand Pretty Little Liars star Ashley Benson’s concern and why she would file a restraining order. It can be a scary thing when only glancing towards someone garners their attention. It makes them think that they should not only pursue a relationship, but also tell members of his church that he will be getting married to said star. The big question is should Hollywood be concerned with the growing epidemic of stalkers, especially towards the female celebrities, or should they just chalk it up to that’s the life of a celebrity? Hopefully with so many recent stalkers California and other states will begin to evaluate better ways to protect their citizens in the near future. The recent outbreak of stalkers should make state lawmakers aware that a slap on the wrist is just not enough anymore.
