It has been revealed that Roper is an employee of Walmart. His bail was set at $50,000.
According to the New Jersey State Police, Roper failed to notice traffic ahead of him, and while swerving to avoid it, overturned his truck, hitting the limousine bus that Morgan and four other comedians were riding in. The other comedians were James McNair, known as “Jimmy Mack,” Ardie Fuqua, Harris Stanton, and Jeffrey Millea, Tracy Morgan’s assistant. James McNair was killed in the crash. He related feeling helpless and screaming. Gale’s employers say that they agree with the police’s first reports, saying the Walmart truck was responsible.
