The Willis Clan is rivaling the Duggar family, both in the number of “J” names and number of offspring. The plus on the Willis side is their amazing musical talent. The family of 12 siblings from Tennessee are multi-versed and ambitious in various things, making the families rivals in a sense. Both the Willis Clan and the Duggar family have similarities and differences, along with their profound and unique traits that cause people to be curious. Home schooling and daily chores top the list while these families compete for their spot in the limelight with TV deals and growing attention.
The Duggar family has earned respect and interest with their huge family over the years. Disciplined schedules, along with careful biblical teachings have given viewers a positive model on raising a family. Their conservative style and way of living have been criticized, but at the same time have held up as the family continues to grow. They became popular at the beginning of their TV run simply because they were a huge family. Now a staple on reality TV for the past several years, the Duggar family has succeeded in ratings and revenue.
Another large family is quickly taking center stage. Recently making debuts at DisneyWorld and The Grand Ole Opry, the Willis Clan has also auditioned for a spot on America’s Got Talent. Playing almost every musical instrument imaginable from violin to drums to piano, the siblings enlightened the stage with their good looks and keen personalities. Performing My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music, their arrangement was jazzy with a country flair, making it a new and exciting act. Each member of the family participated with enthusiasm and professionalism. The youngest sibling, 3 year old Jada, even danced throughout the rendition.
Originally from the Chicago area, the family has clung to their Irish roots and is happily settled in middle Tennessee. Exemplifying skills, creativeness and a quest for healthy competition, the Willis Clan has grown not just by numbers but by productiveness to society. They all have a lot to offer with their smiles, achievements and ambition. It seems as they have been taught quite well by their parents, Brenda and Toby.
As the family stands at a dozen children, they fall slightly short of the Duggar’s 19 Kids and Counting. But similarly all the children’s names start with the letter “J” with just a few duplicate names between the two groups. The mixture of blond and brunette curls, brown and blue eyes and flashing smiles cause audiences to become engaged and want more. The oldest daughter, Jessica, age 21, is the lead singer of the Willis Clan. Followed by Jeremiah, Jennifer, Jeanette, Jackson, Jedi, Jasmine, Juliette, Jamie, Joy Anna, Jaeger and Jada, who knows if another one will join the family.
The Willis Clan’s wide range of vocals and blended harmony is impressive enough, but adding their expertise on a number of instruments provides the total package. The usual guitars are backed up by a banjo, flute, accordion and cello along with a variety of percussion.
Although the Duggar family also musically inclined, the Willis Clan is certainly outdoing them in this area. The Willis Clan also is well rounded in athletic ability, art and writing skills and horsemanship. They are currently starring in their own television show on the Great American Country station.
The judges on America’s Got Talent were all stunned and awed by the recent performance of the Willis Clan. The musical family received rave reviews and an unanimous positive vote to go on in the competition. This could just be the beginning for another huge family of “J” named kids to grow up and entertain audiences with their talent for many years to come.
