On Saturday evening, Adam Levine, who was declared the “Sexiest Man Alive” by People magazine, got married to his girlfriend of almost two years, Victoria’s Secret supermodel Behati Prinsloo. The coach of The Voice and lead singer of Maroon 5 married Namibian-born Prinsloo in the beautiful and romantic location of Los Cabos, Mexico, according to USA Today.
There were almost 300 guests in attendance when the happy couple, Adam Levine, 35, and Behati Prinsloo, 25, were married. The other members of Maroon 5 were there, as well as some big-name celebrities, like Robert Downey Jr., Jason Seagul, Erin Heatherston and Jonah Hill. Just a couple of months off, on September 2, Maroon 5 will release a new album, V.
Stevie Nicks, from the legendary group Fleetwood Mac, flew in to attend the wedding ceremony and to perform there during the wedding reception for the newlyweds and their guests, according to US Weekly. The groom had a fitted tux on and Behati Prinsloo was reportedly dressed in a Marchesa wedding gown for the big day.
Andrew Levine and his bride first acknowledged to the media that they were in a romantic relationship in June 2012, not long after he had split up with his former girlfriend, Anne Vyalitsyna. They briefly drifted apart following a split-up, but soon renewed their relationship and last July, they announced that they were engaged. Reportedly, Levine’s gentlemanly manner came out when he went to speak with Behati Prinsloo’s father and he asked for her hand in marriage.
Weddings are a time of celebration, perhaps especially if you happen to be a wealthy celebrity and musician, like Adam Levine. His wedding celebration began on Friday evening, when nearly 100 people attended a beach party that he and Prinsloo held at El Dorado. The celebrity-packed party was held in front of the home of actor Mike Meldman.
The couple arranged for their guests to be served at a champagne bar and they also had an ice cream truck there for any guests who wanted to eat something cool in the sultry heat. Entertainment was provided by a DJ who played classic rock and alternative songs, according to US Weekly.
Members of the wedding party included, on the bride’s side, fellow Victoria’s Secret model Coco Rocha and Maroon 5 bandmate, Jesse Carmichael, on the groom’s side. Carmichael was Adam Levine’s best man during the wedding ceremony as the couple exchanged vows.
The couple requested that guests not bring them any wedding gifts. Instead, they said that they would prefer it if guests made donations to the Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Adam Levine will be returning to The Voice this coming fall as a married man following his wedding ceremony to Victoria’s Secret supermodel, Behati Prinsloo, this Saturday evening. Several A-list celebrities were on hand for the wedding ceremony and reception that followed, during which Stevie Nicks performed. The now-married couple’s honeymoon destination is, reportedly, South Africa. Prinsloo hails from Namibia, located in southern Africa, so the honeymoon will also be a homecoming, of sorts, for her. The Guardian Liberty Voice wishes to extend its congratulations to the happily married couple!
