Fans waited, begged, pleaded, and some even prayed for Rihanna to grace their ear drums with some new music and now their wishes may be granted. The Bajan singer may be staying so quiet on the music front because she is working with some hit-makers behind-the-scenes to deliver some new material for radios to overplay and dance clubs to keep in rotation. According to the singer/song-writer/producer Yung Berg, the Carribbean songstress has received a new track titled All Night.
Penned by rapper Yung Berg and produced by Nic Nac (Chris Brown’s Loyal ft Lil Wayne and Tyga), the new single is still in the demo stages. In true Rihanna fashion, the new single already gives off the sexual vibe. A niche that Rihanna has made her own with her undeniable sex appeal. There is no question that her beauty and talent for picking an infectious hook and beat will radiate on this upcoming record. Similar to her other singles, Berg went on to state that the new project is not just about being up “all night” but about a woman who can hang or be down for the night. It still sounds sexual, but the metaphor is sure to receive heavy rotation because of the delay of new music from the fashionable songstress.
Since the drop of Rihanna’s Good Girl, Gone Bad, she has treated fans with a steady supply of audio crack to wet their appetites. Each year that followed the global success of her sophomore pop album, Rihanna has consistently put out a new project that further catapulted her to the top of the Billboard charts. Her latest project Unapologetic reached platinum status, selling more than three million copies worldwide and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 charts. Since its 2012 release, the seventh studio album has spawned seven hits, including Rihanna’s two number one hits Diamond and Stay. Unapologetic also spawned two inter nation tours-777 tour and Diamond World Tour.
Following Rihanna’s Grammy-winning seventh studio album release, she has made several appearances but no new singles or word of a release date. In 2014, fans got to hear yet another chart-topping listen with Eminem’s Monster. The track found the Bajan beauty recapturing the success of 2010’s Love The Way You Lie, the Marshall Mathers LP 2 single is a more pop/rock single that features Rihanna crooning on the chorus and catchy hook. It wasn’t long before the single reached number one and segwayed into a joint nationwide tour between Rihanna and Eminem. Within the same year, Rihanna also was featured on Shakira’s lead single Can’t Remember to Forget You.
According to the Yung Berg interview, the hit-making artist has worked with both Rihanna and Nicki Minaj on their respective projects. Berg was mostly excited for his work with Minaj on her latest album Pink Print. He claimed that the femcee is one of his best friends in the music industry. Berg later let it slip that he has been working behind the scenes to pen another hit single for Rihanna. Although Berg’s last hit was Snapback and Tattoos, the collaboration between him and Nic Nac should prove to be an interesting listen. At this point in her career, it seems like as long as Rihanna has a catchy hook and good production, she will find placement on the charts and on the radio.
