Atlanta Police Release Sketch in Jogger Assault

Atlanta

Atlanta police have released a sketch of the suspect being sought in the assault of a woman that occurred on Aug. 11, 2014. The victim, Ms. Pearl Ryder, 29, was jogging toward Moreland on Freedom Parkway Path at the intersection of North Avenue and Euclid. As she reached the top of the hill, a white male believed to be in his 50’s jumped out from the woods and began to run behind her at a very close distance.

Ms. Ryder turned around and yelled, “Hey! Hey!” At this point, the man reached for her. Ms. Ryder then raised her arms defensively and yelled even louder at the suspect, “What are you doing?” The suspect then retreated into the woods. Although he did not say anything to the victim during the incident, Ms. Ryder reported feeling as though he posed a great threat to her.

The suspect is a white male of average build. He is approximately 5′ 10″ tall with pale skin and was wearing blue jeans and a light gray T-shirt. According to the victim, he was clean-cut and did not appear to be a transient or homeless. Ms. Ryder was not physically injured during the assault.

Anybody who may be able to assist the Atlanta police department in identifying the man in the sketch above should call Zone 6 CID at 404-373-5331 / 5332.  Information can also be anonymously submitted to the Crime Stoppers tip line in Atlanta (404-577-TIPS), at crimestoppers.org or by texting the tip and the letters “CSA” to CRIMES (274637).

There is a reward of up to $2,000.00 for any information (anonymous or otherwise) that leads to the arrest and indictment of the man pictured in the sketch.
