Rumors are circulating that Jennifer Love Hewitt is feeling the pressure to lose the baby weight. She had previously spoken out about refusing to push herself as she wanted to spend more time with her baby. However, the industry she is in just does not support that view for a new mother.
The I Know What You Did Last Summer actress gave birth eight months ago, and is still struggling to lose the weight. Up until now, she has been relatively behind the scenes and never really had a need to get back into her previous body shape. However, she is now filming her scenes for Criminal Minds season 10, where people expect her to be a certain size and shape.
Some of the pressure may come from the network bosses for the FBI TV show. There is a constant need for women to be small and “in shape,” and it often means that new moms will starve themselves to slim down quickly. It is unhealthy and does not show positivity to other new moms, but the network bosses only care about the people who sell. There is the possibility that if she does not lose the weight then she will lose her job.
It was just a few months ago that the 35-year-old said that she was not pushing herself to lose the weight quickly. However, it now seems like Hewitt is feeling pressured to lose her baby weight, especially since she cannot find the time to do it. Working and spending time with her daughter, Autumn, is more important for her. That has left her with very little time to get to the gym to help her get in shape. There is only so much that will happen with just diet.
In April, Hewitt did explain that she just was not obsessed with the idea of getting into shape. That does not mean she does not want that happen. She would still like to slim down and lose some of the excess weight.
It is not just the Criminal Minds bosses that will want her to lose weight. According to a source close to the star, she wants to lose it too. She hates the image of herself on camera and is putting herself under pressure to lose it so there are not too many episodes with her looking large. However, spending time with her daughter is still more important to her.
It is a difficult situation. On the one hand, she is showing support to many new moms who often feel under pressure to lose the excess weight after pregnancy because actresses and singers manage to do it. She shows that enjoying time with a child is just as—if not more—important. However, there is the pressure to get back in shape quickly because of her career. She needs to look appealing on camera, and there is the risk of losing her job should she not get back into shape. It is no wonder that Hewitt is now really feeling pressured to lose the baby weight, and is putting the pressure on herself to do it in a short period of time.
